AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital
(TAG.GD), in partnership with the Arab Technical Est. for International Trading
(ATIT), the exclusive agent for the Canada-based RoboGarden, launched an
innovative and new service for teaching programming and Artificial Intelligence
(AI) for students through interactive playing, under the name TAG-RoboGarden.
During the launching ceremony, held at
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-Forum), HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh,
TAG.GD founder and chairman, affirmed the importance of coding and programming
as the language of the modern age and an essential driver for creativity and
innovation. “Learning programming is a real investment in developing minds that
are capable of solving problems and coping with the requirements of the digital
future,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh noted.
He further asserted that the newly
launched digital schoolbag, offered by TAG.GD, equipped with various interactive
and intelligent ecosystem, goes far beyond a traditional teaching service.
Designed to encourage students to learn through experimentation and playing,
describing it as a real bridge for narrowing the digital skills gap and
preparing students to meet the requirements and needs of the future job market.
“We believe
that digital education is an investment in humans and in the future of our
region. Through this initiative, we aim to change the traditional concept of
the education that is based on memorizing information from schoolbooks that
constitute a burden to all students and replace them with a lightweight and
advanced device that incorporate all curricula,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.
He continued: “Students will no longer
need to replace the device annually; they will simply update the content. The
device features an array of services and applications, including learning
programming through playing “RoboGarden”. This will contribute to promoting the
culture of programming and technical creativity among university and school
students alike, as well as empowering a generation that is capable to lead
innovation and the digital transformation in the Arab world.”
For his part, Eng. Khaldoun Al-Zeinati,
ATIT general manager, stated that the Establishment offers its educational
programs in five languages: Arabic, English, Chinese, Spanish and Brazilian,
serving more than 3.5 million students around the world.
“We are
launching today from more than 20 countries from all over the world, and we are
looking forward to reaching 100 countries in the next phase. Our educational
programs and their applications have been adopted by the Ministries of
Education in Canada, Brazil, India, China and other countries,” he added.
Eng. Al-Zeinati also announced the launch
of the largest programming contest in the Arab world under the patronage of the
State of Qatar that will start at TAG-Forum, while the final rounds will take
place in Qatar with the participation of all Arab countries.
Additionally, he pointed to the launch of
the RoboGarden app. on TAG Tablet devices, as well as a dedicated website
developed in cooperation with TAG.GD that offers advanced educational programs
in visible programming, Java, Python languages, website design, mobile apps,
and developing electronic games.
It is worth mentioning that the ceremony
was attended by elite of academics, digital learning specialists and
representatives of universities and educational institutes.
